About The Crypt School
The Crypt School is a selective boys’ grammar school with a specialist status in science and languages. This school is smaller than the average-sized secondary school. The sixth form admits girls and students from two local grammar schools. The proportion of students known to be eligible for free school meals is lower than average, as is the proportion of disabled students and those who have special educational needs or who have a statement of special educational needs. The proportion of students from minority ethnic groups, including those who speak English as an additional language, is similar to that in most schools. The school converted to an academy on 1 April 2011.
