Background to the 11 Plus Exam in London – Barnet

There are three Grammar Schools in London – Barnet that children will need to take an 11 Plus Exam to get into.

Mill County High School

Queen Elizabeth’s School (QE Boy’s Barnet)

London – Barnet 11 Plus Exam Format Details

For Henrietta Barnett there are two tests. The first test, written by GL, consists of:

  • English
  • Verbal reasoning
  • Non-Verbal reasoning

The top 300 students will be invited back to the second round test which is school written and consists of:

  • English, focussing on comprehension and creative writing
  • Maths, focussing on problem solving

For Queen Elizabeth’s School the paper is written by GL and covers:

  • English
  • Maths

For Mill County High School the paper is set by GL Assessment and consists of two sections:

  • Verbal reasoning
  • Non-Verbal reasoning
