Background to the 11 Plus Exam in London – Kingston-upon-Thames

There are three Grammar Schools in London – Kingston-upon-Thames that children will need to take an 11 Plus Exam to get into.

London – Kingston-upon-Thames 11 Plus Exam Format Details

At Tiffin Grammar School and Tiffin Girls’ Grammar School both follow the same format, the 11plus has two stages which have been taken from a mix of both GL Assessment, CEM as well as some styles of their own. Stage one includes:

  • English and Mathematics which includes both multiple choice and free response.

Some pupils will be invited back for stage two which includes:

  • English and Mathematics set by the individual school. Exams from previous years have included, comprehension, maths, as well as a longer writing task

 

Kingston Grammar School – The 11plus exam consists of two papers which are each 50 minutes and include:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Verbal Reasoning
