Background to the 11 Plus Exam in London – Kingston-upon-Thames

There are three Grammar Schools in London – Kingston-upon-Thames that children will need to take an 11 Plus Exam to get into.

London – Kingston-upon-Thames 11 Plus Exam Format Details

At Tiffin Grammar School is written by Quest Assessment made up of two stages. Stage one covers:

• English multiple choice paper and a Mathematics mulitple choice paper.

Some pupils will be invited back for stage two which includes:

• An English paper and a Maths paper which both require short written responses.

Tiffin Girls’ Grammar School is split into two stages. Stage one covers:

• English multiple choice and Mathematics which is split between multiple choice and having to record a numerical answer.

Some pupils will be invited back for stage two which includes:

• English and Maths which requires short written responses.

Kingston Grammar School – The 11 plus exam consists of two papers which are each 50 minutes and include:

• English
• Mathematics
• Verbal Reasoning
