Description of the school – Torquay Boys’ Grammar School

Torquay Boys’ Grammar School is a selective school drawing students from a large number of primary schools in Torbay and the surrounding area. The proportion of students entitled to free school meals is well below average, although the school’s catchment area is not prosperous.

There are very few students from minority ethnic groups or with a first language other than English. The school has held specialist languages status for a number of years and has recently been awarded a second specialism in business and enterprise education.
