Gloucestershire 11 Plus Exam Format Details

In Gloucestershire, the Grammar Schools have the same exam. The Gloucestershire 11 Plus test for 2023 (entry 2024) has changed from CEM tests to GL tests. The GL 11 Plus exams have two papers that cover the following topics:

  • Paper 1- This paper will focus on English and Verbal Reasoning. In this test, we expect to see questions from GL’s 21-question type verbal reasoning question bank, some comprehension questions plus perhaps some further literacy questions from GL’s literacy question bank. This paper will be 55 minutes in length.
  • Paper 2- This paper will focus on numerical and non-verbal skills. Pupils can expect this to draw from GL’s maths question bank and from their non-verbal reasoning question bank. This paper will also be 55 minutes in length.
